German Chancellor Merkel and French president Hollande discussing Iran nuclear talks:

BERLIN, March 31 (Reuters) - German Chancellor Angela Merkel said on Tuesday it would be a positive message if negotiators in Switzerland reach a deal with Iran on curbing its nuclear programme but made clear that there had been no breakthrough in talks.

UN Sanctions Main Obstacle to Iran Nuclear Deal Hitting Deadline

Iran nuclear talks in Lausanne

(Bloomberg) -- Iran’s insistence on an immediate lifting of United Nations sanctions is a main obstacle to securing a framework agreement on its disputed nuclear program by March 31, five European and U.S. diplomats said.
The Western powers negotiating with Iran have proposed lifting UN sanctions in four to six years, according to the officials who asked not to be named, in line with diplomatic rules. Some sanctions may remain in place for as long as a decade, they said.
The Chinese foreign minister, Wang Yi, is expected to offer fresh proposals when he arrives on Sunday morning, according to two people involved in the talks

Saudi Arabia says strikes push Yemen rebels out of air bases

Gen. Ahmed bin Hasan Asiri

SANAA, Yemen (AP) Mar 29-- A Saudi-led airstrike campaign targeting Shiite rebels who control much of Yemen has pushed them out of contested air bases and destroyed any jet fighter remaining in the Arab world’s poorest country, the kingdom has said.
Saudi Brig. Gen. Ahmed bin Hasan Asiri said the airstrike campaign, now entering its fourth day Sunday, continued to target Scud missiles in Yemen, leaving most of their launching pads 'devastated,' according to remarks carried by the state-run Saudi Press Agency.
However, he warned Saturday that the Shiite rebels, known as Houthis, could control more of the missiles. His account could not be immediately corroborated.
The Houthis began their offensive in September, seizing the capital, Sanaa, and later holding embattled President Abed Rabbo Mansour Hadi under house arrest. The rebels later took over government in Yemen and ultimately forced Hadi to flee the country in recent days
